Yuzuru Hanyu’s first autobiography ‘Aoi Honō’ (Blue Flame), published in April 2012, has sold over 150,000 copies. Now, 4 years later, the long-awaited 2nd autobiography ‘Aoi Honō II’ is here (out on 7th July 2016).
In 2012, he moved his training base from Sendai to Toronto. The youth became an Olympic gold medalist and kept breaking world record scores, and in the shadows, fought against injury and sickness, using hardships as nourishment to make great strides forward. The 4 tumultuous years and ‘behind the stage’ from 2012 to 2016 will be described through long interviews and photographs.
Yuzuru will donate all royalties from the book to Ice Rink Sendai. The publisher ‘Fusosha’ will also donate part of the revenue from the sales.
